Suduroy
(South Island) is the southernmost and arguably the most picturesque
of the Faroe Islands, with a population of approx. 5000. Most
people on the island live in the two main cities Vagur and Tvoroyri.
Visitors
to Suðuroy travel by ferry from Torshavn. The crossing takes
about two hours and is a fantastic experience in itself. The ferry
sails between Torshavn, on the island of Streymoy, and Tvoroyri,
on the island of Suduroy. The ferry sails twice a day - once in
the morning and once in the evening.
Suduroy
is a uniqe island with beautiful landscape. The people on Suduroy
have got their own distinct dialect and are well-know on the other
islands for their hospitality and for being open, loud and friendly.
