Winner
of Time Out’s Stand-Up Comedian of the Year gong and
described as “the most exciting comedian of his generation”,
Big Brother's big mouth takes his award-winning wit to the
masses this season with a major national UK tour. The critically
acclaimed 6 Music host fronted the NME Awards earlier this
year and continues to deepen laughter lines with his relentlessly
energetic MTV show '1 Leicester Square'. A much-loved regular
on London's comedy circuit, he can also be seen in the forthcoming
Reese Witherspoon film “Penelope”. Russell is
joined by Edinburgh Festival favourite Trevor Lock, who cut
his comedy teeth as a writer and performer on the national
stand-up scene. |

THE
TWO FACES OF MITCHELL & WEBB -
Sun 22nd Oct 2006 - The Lowry |
David Mitchell and Robert Webb,
two medium-sized figures of the small screen return to the
medium in which they were once tiny: the theatre. Join them
for an evening of wondering where the camera is and forgetting
to speak up, as they weave character, suspense and comedy
just by titting around in front of some painted wood. David
and Robert conjure a world inhabited by gritty urban anti-heroes,
pantomime space villains and alcoholic snooker commentators
(all of whom look a bit like Mark and Jeremy from Peep Show
but definitely aren't) and then they make them talk to each
other like they're in some crazy play with nowhere near
enough actors. Like TV but more exclusive, and infinitely
more hassle. |
