Clive
James worked as journalist, poet, novelist and reviewer,
before going on to be a television critic for The Observer
between 1972 and 1982; subsequently hosting the ITV show
Clive James on Television, in which he showcased unusual
and amusing television programmes from around the world.
For several years in the late 1980s and 1990s, he hosted
the BBC’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. His
style of witty narration which proved popular with fans
sets the standard for this one-man show. Humorous tales
and anecdotes make this a must-see show
