There's An Awful Lot of Bubbly In Brazil - The Life and Times A Bon Viveur
By Alan Brazil & Mike Parry Publishers Highdown 2006
This is a tale about a boy from the back streets of Glasgow who rose from being a fanatical Celitc fan to leading Scotland's World Cup attack with Kenny Dalglish. It is also the tale of a bon viveur, a 'champagne charlie' who lives life to the full. With a shock of curly ginger hair and feet of fire, Brazil was to shine at Ipswich under the wing of Sir Bobby Robson. It coincided with the Suffolk club's most successful ever era, culminating in winning the UEFA Cup in 1981. Following an early retirement because of a back injury, Brazil forged a new career in the media where his insight and keen sense of humour took him to the heights as a football presenter and commentator on TV and as the star of talkSPORT's award-winning radio show "The Sports Breakfast". Funny and controversial by turns, "There's An Awful Lot of Bubbly in Brazil" will entertain and amuse all followers of football as well as the multitude of fans of his radio show. Released in Sept '06.

Jimmy Delaney - The Stuff of Legend
By David W. Potter Publishers Breedon Books 2006
Jimmy Delaney is unique in world football in that he won three Cup Winners' Medals in three different countries in three different decades - quite a feat! He won the Scottish Cup for Celtic before World War Two, the English Cup for Manchester United immediately after the end of the war and the Irish Cup for Derry City in the 1950s. In addition, he won 13 caps for Scotland. "Jimmy Delaney: The Stuff of Legend" details all his achievements, including the horrendous injury that he suffered on the eve of World War Two and the family tragedy that also came his way. There is an account of his famous goal in the Victory International of 1946, which lit up all of Scotland. He played for seven clubs in total in a career which lasted from 1933-1957. Jimmy was renowned for good sportsmanship and remained a humble man from a small village in Lanarkshire. Released in hardback in September 2006.

Duncan Edwards Books
The Boy Wonders: Duncan Edwards, Wayne Rooney and the Changing Face of Football
By Colin Malam Publishers Highdown 2006
Duncan Edwards and Wayne Rooney are two of the greatest players to have graced English football in the post-war era. Professional football now is a very different business from the one Duncan Edwards knew. In "The Boy Wonders", Colin Malam not only examines the glittering careers of the two players, but charts some of the massive changes in English football that have accompanied them along the way. Thanks to the abolition of the maximum wage, the Bosman ruling and an avalanche of television money, Rooney earns more in a week than Edwards could in 100 years. At the same time, he is beset by problems beyond Edwards' ken. Duncan could go to work on the bus, but Wayne cannot step outside his door without being monitored by an intrusive media. Released in September 2006.
