The metrolink tram system offers an alternative to walking and also links Old Trafford (5 mins), The Lowry (13 mins), Bury and Altrincham.
Piccadilly Station is the main train station for Manchester. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the main shopping street whilst trams connect other parts of Manchester city centre.
Victoria Station is next to the MEN Arena and offers alternative routes.

Manchester Airport has its own rail station and connects to Piccadilly Station in only 16 minutes (approx £3.10). Taxis cost around £20 and take about 30 mins (10 miles / 16km). [cheap flights]
