The Dust Junkys made their debut in 1997,
and have since had numerous hit singles and built a massive fanbase
built from non-stop gigging especially in the Manchester region.
The
Dust Junkys have found a perfect middle ground between the world
of Rock and the worlds of Rap, Funk and Hip Hop. It is a sound
that often earns them comparism with House Of Pain, Fun Lovin'
Criminals, and especially fellow Mancunians, Black
Grape, whom they supported on a 1998 tour.
The
fantastic Manchester 5-piece, fronted by Nicky Lockett (a.k.a
rapper M.C. Tunes from 808
State), have become legendary as one of the best live acts
in Britain and are infamous for their rock'n'roll party antics.
The Dust Junkys superbly mix conflicting musical strains and befriend
even the most sceptical critics with their overwhelmingly infectious
personalities.
The
Dust Junkys are huge Manchester
United fans and whilst promoting their brilliant debut album,
"Done and Dusted", often dedicating tracks to the 1977
F.A. Cup winning United
team which beat Liverpool 2-1!
Bloody
brillant! "Done and Dusted"? Not just yet - they will be
around for some time (providing their notorious rock'n'roll lifestyle
doesn't kill them off first!)
