Kendal accommodation in the Lake District

A chartered market town, the centre of Kendal is structured around a highstreet with fortified yards off to either side which allowed the local population to seek shelter from the Anglo-Scottish raiding parties known as the Border Reivers. Kendal, a market town on the River Kent in the Lake District, Cumbria. The largest town in Cumbria, Kendal is also the one of the administrative centres of the county, and one of the main tourist destinations in the English Lake District. Kendal is ideally located as it is close to the motorway but also perfectly placed for towns like Windermere and Ambleside.
