You may have seen him as Young Kenny of tiger striped fame in Channel 4’s ‘Phoenix Nights’ and ‘Max & Paddy’. With support from a very special guest.

Ross Noble at the Opera House Manchester
ROSS NOBLE - Monday 16th to Saturday 21st October 2006

After his visit last year to the Opera House, Ross Noble was a big hit, so much so that he's been given six nights in a row to do his show. This superb comedian is incredibly witty, somewhat mad, and certainly unconventional. He's not everybody's cup of tea, but manchestertheatres.com certainly recommend you go and see him for yourself. If you like laughing, you'll like Ross Noble.

THE TWO FACES OF MITCHELL & WEBB - Sunday 22nd October 2006 - The Lowry

David Mitchell and Robert Webb, two medium-sized figures of the small screen return to the medium in which they were once tiny: the theatre. Join them for an evening of wondering where the camera is and forgetting to speak up, as they weave character, suspense and comedy just by titting around in front of some painted wood. David and Robert conjure a world inhabited by gritty urban anti-heroes, pantomime space villains and alcoholic snooker commentators (all of whom look a bit like Mark and Jeremy from Peep Show but definitely aren't) and then they make them talk to each other like they're in some crazy play with nowhere near enough actors. Like TV but more exclusive, and infinitely more hassle.

Acorn Antiques at the Opera House Manchester
ACORN ANTIQUES - Mon 11th December 2006 to Sat 6th January 2007

Victoria Wood's magnificently bad soap opera arrives at The Lowry for Christmas with a cast to be announced. The cast of the axed TV soap, down on their luck and looking for work, have found themselves performing in an experimental opera taking a bleak look at modern Britain. But Mrs Overall won’t let the opera drag her down and starts trying to slip a few more tuneful ditties into the proceedings. As events unravel fate gives her the chance to fulfil her dream of taking a musical based on Acorn Antiques to the West End, with lots of lovely singing and dancing, and a very prominent part for her.
