Pride Of Manchester Award for Members' Favourite Restaurant in Manchester 2009-10
Pride Of Manchester's 56,000 members were invited to vote for their 5 favourite restaurants in the Manchester region during 2009.
Different to the 'Best Restaurant in Manchester Award', which is determined from the thousands of reviews submitted to Restaurants Of Manchester and ManchesterRestaurants.com throughout the year, this award is given to the restaurant our members love the most.
5,910 votes were cast by 1,182 members for 335 different restaurants. The final shortlist (in alphabetical order) being...

Previous Winners
2009 ~ CHAOPHRAYA
2008 ~ CHOICE

~ Chaophraya ~
The Chapel Walks Thai restaurant which was the clear winner of 2008-09's 'Pride Of Manchester Award for Members' Favourite Restaurant' has been shortlisted once again in this year's awards.
Previously crowned 'Best Restaurant in Manchester Restaurant' in the 2007-08 awards, winner of The Times 'Number One Vegetarian Restaurant in the UK' and named in the 'Top 3 Thai Restaurants in Britain' by the Guardian, it's not hard to see why Chaophraya is one of the busiest restaurants in town.
Fantastic prices, great food, A Thai Cooking School and a 15% discount for Pride of Manchester members continue to win their votes.

~ Choice Restaurant & Bar ~
When the Castlefield restaurant was voted 'Pride Of Manchester Members' Choice' in 2007-08, we had to rename the award 'Members' Favourite Restaurant' for obvious reasons.
Having changed chef, and seemingly all the better for it, the independent British restaurant storms into the shortlist again this year following the incredible £10 for 3 courses offer they exclusively ran for Pride Of Manchester members to celebrate our 10th anniversary - one of the most popular special offers we have ever ran.
The beautiful canalside setting, fantastic food and arguably the best service in town make this one of our members' clear favourites.

~ Michael Caines at Abode ~
The 2008-09 'Restaurants Of Manchester Best Restaurant in Manchester' has been voted into the shortlist for our 'Members' Favourite Restaurant', which is reflective of the double Michelin Starred chef's vision to offer an all inclusive fine dining restaurant to Manchester and some amazing special offers for Pride Of Manchester members that you wouldn't normally expect to find in such celebrated establishments.
Executive Chef, Ian Matfin, has indeed become a celebrity himself this year appearing on the Great British Menu and his culinary skills seem to have been rewarded with plenty of our members' votes. Like the 2,000 people who made online reservations for Michael Caines through Restaurants of Manchester in 2009, it's advisable to book a table well in advance.

~ The Modern ~
Continuely one of the most popular pages on Restaurants Of Manchester, the fantastic British restaurant at the top of Urbis is an obvious selection for our Members' Favourite Restaurant shortlist.
With locally sourced food and a great pre-show menu proving popular with MEN Arena and Royal Exchange Theatre goers, The Modern will thankfully stay open when Urbis closes on the 28th February to make way for the new National Football Museum.

~ Olive Press Manchester ~
Another restaurant to join in celebrating Pride Of Manchester's 10th Anniversary with an amazing exclusive offer was Paul Heathcote's Italian restaurant & grill, just off Deansgate, around the corner from the Opera House.
The £10 deal was just one of many fantastic special offers our members were able to take advantage of at The Olive Press throughout 2009 and, in return, they've rewarded the popular pizzeria by voting it into the shortlist for their Favourite Restaurant.

~ Sapporo Teppanyaki ~
The fantastic Japanese teppanyaki and sushi restaurant, opposite the Science & Industry Museum in Castlefield, is a popular choice amongst our members and has been voted into the shortlist for their favourite restaurant.
Just a few minutes walk to the Opera House, Sapporo is the ideal place for a pre-theatre meal or you can also enjoy the theatre in the restaurant itself - the chefs entertaining diners with their colourful cooking skills at the table, making it perfect for large parties.

~ Vermilion ~
With over 4,000 online table bookings alone in 2009 via Restaurants Of Manchester, the £4.5m Thai fusion restaurant in Eastlands was the busiest on the website so it's no surprise that our members have voted it into the shortlist as their Favourite Restaurant.
The jaw-dropping furnishings could be taken straight from a James Bond film set and the food is equally impressive, with some great special offers for Pride Of Manchester members too.

~ Walrus Japanese Canteen ~
The Northern Quarter cocktail bar & canteen has won plenty of votes from Pride Of Manchester members, who've taken advantage of some amazing special offers at the funky Japanese diner throughout 2009.
Walrus's regular food & wine tasting sessions have proved especially popular, taking tastebuds on tours of South East Asia, whilst their bento boxes are incredible value for food of such quality.

The other establishments voted into the shortlist for Pride Of Manchester Members' Favourite Restaurant are...

Albert's Shed
El Rincon de Rafa
