Carling Cup Final 2009 on dvd

Carling Cup Final 2009 - Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
United fans roared when Rio lifted the Carling Cup at Wembley, as ‘The Reds’ continued the 2008/09 season as they finished the last one, by collecting yet another trophy. Sir Alex promised his young guns he’d reward their hard work in getting United to the final and that’s exactly what he did, with Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck, Jonny Evans and Ben Foster all in the starting line up. With the game deadlocked after 120 minutes, Wembley braced itself for the drama of penalties. Now it was time for heroes. Giggsy stepped up first and calmly slotted home, before man of the match Foster saved O’Hara’s spot kick and from then on, the final result was never in doubt. Tevez and Ronaldo scored confidently and when Bentley fired his penalty wide, 20 year old Anderson stepped up to stroke home the winner and United fans celebrated another piece of silverware. Relive the game in full – and all the glorious celebrations both on the pitch and in the dressing room – plus all the best action from the Road to Wembley, on the way to Fergie’s 32nd trophy with United. Incredible!

The Coca-Cola Cup Final 1994 - Aston Villa v Manchester United
Andrei Kanchelskis couldn't believe his luck as he looked up to see what colour card the ref had shown him. The look of surprise hadn't left the Russian's face as he was sent off early from the Wembley pitch. It topped of a crap day for United as they were convincingly beaten by Aston Villa 3-1 in the Coca-Cola League Cup Final. Dalian Atkinson put the Midland's team ahead and in the last quarter of the game, Dean Saunders put the game beyond United's reach. Mark Hughes' scored bringing the Reds some hope, until Saunders' 90th minute penalty. Also available is the video Aston Villa's Road to Wembley showing all 90 minutes of the final.

The Rumbelows Cup Final 1992 - Manchester Utd v Notts Forest
A two tape package containing the 1992 Rumbelows Football League Cup Final and 'The Story Of The League Cup'. Featuring Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United. For the first and only time so far, United won the League Cup thanks to a goal by Brian McClair. United wore their away strip that day - the unusual light blue (Man City colours!) design. Remember it? Take a peek at our kit section.

United On Rampage - Arsenal 2 Man Utd 6 - League Cup 1991
A Lee Sharpe hat-trick as United thrashed Arsenal at Highbury. Clayton Blackmore, Mark Hughes and Danny Wallace were the other goalscorers on that great night for United fans. The Reds had already beaten Halifax and Liverpool (highlights also on this video) before their tricky tie in London, but Sharpey would be doing his famous shuffle all night. In the following rounds, United beat Southampton and then Leeds in the semis, before annoyingly losing to Sheffield Wednesday in the final, after doing all the hard work earlier in the cup.

Sheff Wed - League Cup Glory - Rumbelows Cup Final 1991
Although United won the European Cup Winners' Cup this season, they narrowly missed out to Leeds Utd in Division One, and they lost to another Yorkshire Club, Sheffield Wednesday in the final of the Rumbelows League Cup Final. This video shows action from Sheffield Wednesday's campaign including all the events leading up to and beyond the League Cup Final. It is to no surprise that Manchester United did not release a video of this final. However, if you want action from the game, it is available on the Manchester United 1991-92 Season Official Club Video - So Near, So Far! which can be found in our season reviews

The Milk Cup Final 1983 - Manchester United v Liverpool
This was United's first ever appearance in the League Cup Final. In only the second ever Milk Cup Final, United faced rivals Liverpool. It was to be a close encounter with the game going to extra time. A young Norman Whiteside had put United in front with a beauty of a goal, but Alan Kennedy made it 1-1. Bruce Grobbelaar should have been sent off for a terrible challenge on Gordon McQueen but only got a yellow card. In extra time, Ronnie Whelan scored a fantastic curler which gave Liverpool a 2-1 victory. Never been released.

Man United Charity Shield matches on DVD and Video
The FA Charity Shield 2000 - Chelsea vs Manchester Utd
Sadly for the Men from Manchester, the Boys in Blue of Chelsea got one over them. The Londoners won the 2000 Charity Shield by winning two goals to nil. Hasselbaink open his and Chelsea's account with a goal after 22 minutes after beating Johnson and Stam. The second half got no better for the Reds as Roy Keane got sent off for a challenge on Gus Poyet. M Melchiot in the 73rd minute sealed the game for Chelsea as he scored past Bartez from the edge of the box.

The FA Charity Shield 1996 - Manchester Utd vs Newcastle Utd
Manchester United showed no charity to Newcastle United when they thrashed them 4-0 in the 1996-97 traditional curtain-raiser, spoiling the debut of £15 million striker Alan Shearer. Shearer's day was ruined by four stunning goals from Cantona, Butt, Beckham and Keane as the Reds showed that they once again are the team to beat. Presented by Eamonn Holmes, the video includes the entire match and behind the scenes dressing room footage.

The FA Charity Shield 1994 - Manchester United vs Blackburn
Over 60,000 people watched United take on Blackburn Rovers. Manchester United would go on to win 2-0 thanks to goals from Eric Cantona and Paul Ince. In the first half, Ince was brought down by Colin Hendry and King Eric had coolly slotted home a penalty in the bottom left hand corner of the goal leaving Tim Flower's helpless. Paul Ince confirmed United's win with a spectacular overhead kick, celebrating at the United end as the fans went mad!

The FA Charity Shield 1993 - Arsenal vs Manchester United
This was to be one of the most excited Charity Shield matches ever witnessed. As early as the 8th minute, Eric Cantona played the ball back to Mark Hughes who scored one of his trade mark volleys. At the other end, Ian Wright equalised with a brilliant goal made from nothing. After 90 minutes it finished 1-1. Wright then went from hero to villian as he missed a penalty in the penalty shootout which would have won it for the Gunners. Bryan Robson took advantage of Wright's miss by putting United 5-4 ahead, and finally Peter Schmeichel saved a sudden-death penalty lamely taken by his fellow goalkeeper David Seaman.
