Manchester United Book Competition

Two of our favourite books of the last few months are up for grabs!

Gary James's "Manchester, A Football History" and Sean Egan's "The Doc's Devils" are excellent books and we are very pleased to link up with the publishers to bring you competitions to win free copies

Competition 1 :-

WIN a SIGNED COPY of

GARY JAMES'

Manchester - a Football History

The scope of this book is massive and Gary James has done a fantastic job in telling the story of the growth (and, in some cases, decline) of the many clubs which have made the Manchester area such a hotbed of football. United features heavily, as you'd expect, but this is a big book in every sense of the word and no matter which local club you support, you will find the book engrossing. When it was first published in 2008, we rated it as the best publication of the year and we're delighted that a second fully updated edition has now been published.

Gary and his publishers, James Ward, have kindly donated two signed copies of the book for our Competition.

Competition 2 :-

WIN a COPY of

SEAN EGAN'S

The Doc's Devils. Manchester United 1972-1977

The story of Tommy Docherty's reign at Old Trafford is brought to life in this excellent book by Sean Egan. The Doc's era was the ultimate rollercoaster for the Reds - the ignominy of relegation, the ecstacy of bouncing straight back the following year and the jubilation of winning the FA Cup. Criticised for his defensive football, Docherty won over his critics by making some great signings and creating a swashbuckling attacking team, which is still fondly remembered as one of the most exciting United teams of all time..Off the pitch was also very lively with issues such as the George Best saga and the Doc's extra-marital affair, which led to his departure. It all adds up to a great read!

Sean and his publishers, Cherry Red Books, have kindly donated two copies of the book for our Competition.
