Pat Hawkins is the president of
the association and is fully qualified in Aerobics, Dance, Choreography
and Cheerleading. She is internationally recognised as a Cheerleading
Coach and Judge and has recently returned from Japan having
taken and achieved the highest possible Cheerleading qualifications
the World can offer. This effectively means that the association
can offer even more to its members.
The UKCA successfully hosted the
VIII. Junior European Cheerleading Championships on 5th July
2003 at the Manchester Velodrome
And the UKCA is the only official UK body to put Nationals Teams
forward to the World Championships. The UKCA successfully hosted
the II. Cheerleading World Championships on 15 - 16th November
2003 in the Manchester Evening News Arena, which saw the champions
of Japan retain their title.
Saturday 8th May will see the
National Cheerleading Championships take place at the Manchester
Velodrome. Officially accepted as a Governing Body for Cheerleading
in the UK by CCPR in January 2002. CCPR acknowledge the work
to improve safety awareness and coach education undertaken by
UKCA.
