The Rain Bar, Bridgewater Area, Manchester
The Rain Bar
80 Bridgewater Street, Manchester. Tel. 0161 235 6500
Rain Bar was named so because it was built on the site of an umbrella factory. Fantastic architecture it's almost two bars in one; a typical Mancunian pub downstairs and a classy bar upstairs. Sit outside by the canal in the summer or keep warm in front of the real fire in the winter.
Peveril Of The Peak, Bridgewater Area, Manchester
Peveril Of The Peak
127 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester. Tel. 0161 236 6364
Probably Manchester's most famous pub. Famed as being Eric Cantona regular, it was also Robbie Coltraine's local in the Cracker TV series. Inside it is very quaint and cosy if you can get a seat. Depending on your taste, you might walk in and just walk out again, or maybe you'll love the character of the pub and enjoy.
